Our program prepares students for a career in various departments, including storyboarding, screenwriting, cinematography, and visual effects compositing. We expose students to major trends and events in film history, from vaudevillian beginnings to the present day.

Director/Principal Sam Shen, a prominent member of prestigious organizations like the China Film Association and China Film Director’s Guild, brings a wealth of knowledge and a distinctive artistic style to the program. Known for his acclaimed works including “Man Jiang Hong: The Death of Yue Fei” (1992), “Jiao Xia Tian Tang” (2003), and “The Crossing” (2013), Sam Shen is a renowned director and producer who is passionate about sharing his insights and techniques with students.

In addition, visual effects artist and animation designer Daniel Clark, who has contributed to major Hollywood films such as “The Curious Case of Benjamen Button,” “Fantastic Four,” and “Fast and Furious 7,” brings his expertise in visual effects compositing to the program. Students will have the invaluable opportunity to learn from these industry professionals who are dedicated to mentoring and sharing their knowledge.

By enrolling in this program, students will gain hands-on experience by producing assigned short films. This practical approach allows them to apply the knowledge and skills they acquire in class, gaining valuable real-world experience in the filmmaking process.
